The rules of association Salli are rather similar than rules in any other non-profit organisation in Finland, because the rules are based on the Finnish Associations Act.

Purpose and activity

The purpose of the association is

• to promote human rights, well being, safety at work, professional skills, possibilities to control one's own working conditions and the common interests of those who work in sex industry
• to prevent and to diminish the problems, disadvantages and malpractices in sex industry
• to promote sexual health and right to sexual integrity for all
• to prevent sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and sexual violence.

For these aims the association

• investigates working conditions and problems in sex industry as well as experiences and opinions of those who work in sex industry
• follows the developments of the sex industry and the society and their influence on the status and working conditions of those working in sex industry
• participates in research and discussion on sex industry
• develops and organizes information, support, and education services and peer groups for those who work in sex industry
• makes initiatives and gives statements
• develops the working conditions in co-operation with those who work in sex industry.

In these rules sex industry refers to business or work where entrepreneur's or worker's sexual knowledge, sexual imagination or sexual skills are used to produce, provide or sell products or services having sexual significance for their customers.

Members

Full membership of the association can be granted to an individual applicant

• who is at least 18 years
• who works or has worked in sex industry
• and who accepts the purpose of the association.

An individual or an organisation willing to support the purpose and activity of the association can be granted supporting membership.

Members and supporting members are accepted by the executive committee of the association.

Executive committee

The activities of the association are managed by the executive committee consisting of a chair person (president) and 2 - 10 members which are chosen by the meeting of the association.

Meeting of the association

Full members of the association have right to participate, speak and vote in the meetings of the association.

Supporting members have right to participate and speak in the meetings of the association.

The association has two ordinary meetings annually.
